ICCAIA was constituted by the Aerospace Industries Association of America (AIA) and the European Association of Aerospace Industries (AECMA). In 2004, AECMA merged with two other European associations to form the AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD). Subsequent members of ICCAIA now include the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC), the Society of Japanese Aerospace Companies (SJAC) and the Aerospace Industries Association of Brazil (AIAB). The Council meets at least once a year, and members are generally represented by the chief executive officer of each association.
